![]() Emma - Director and Tutor (full-time)
After qualifying as an outstanding Secondary English Teacher in 2013, Emma started providing private tuition in her spare time, in English, Maths, and entrance exams, such as the 11+. It became apparent to Emma that many people wanted to employ her services but she simply did not have enough time for everyone, and found herself begrudgingly turning prospective clients away. Though her heart was in tutoring, Emma decided to focus on gaining experience teaching in a school setting, especially since teaching was so new to her. She was promoted to Leader of Literacy across the Curriculum very quickly, with a further promotion to Head of KS3 English in her third year of teaching. These experiences taught Emma a lot about both herself and teaching, and proved invaluable to her development. In January 2017, Emma decided to take the leap and become self-employed. She was able to re-launch Engenius Tuition on a full-time basis, and has tutored full-time ever since. The business has gone from strength-to strength, with 42 children currently receiving weekly tuition. Additionally, masterclasses and mock exams are now offered throughout the year, making Engenius Tuition so much more than just a tuition company. In March 2023, Engenius Tuition became a limited company, and Emma has big plans for its’ future - an assistant, a selection of high-calibre tutors, and a premises are all in the long-term plan! Emma says, “Teaching is the ideal ‘job’ for me, if I can even call it that! I absolutely love it. I am lucky enough to get to meet and support so many lovely families, whilst also working my schedule around my young family. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than helping a child to completely transform their academic ability. I help lots of children - for all different reasons - which gives me so much variety. I simply cannot stress how effective an hour of tutoring a week can be, regardless of ability. The sky really is the limit!” Please get in touch with Emma to discuss your child’s tutoring needs - she would love to help! |

Ellie - Engenius Assistant
Ellie works for Engenius Tuition as the ‘Engenius Assistant’, and joined us in July 2023. She predominantly works on Saturdays, from 10:00-17:00, but works some Sundays too.
As the very first assistant, it didn’t take long for her to become an invaluable part of the furniture! She gets stuck into the admin side of the business - namely invoicing, diary management, attendance registers, and client communications. She’s also happy to lend an hand in lessons, especially with Maths - one of her areas of strength.
Ellie brings with her a wealth of knowledge, and has been through the grammar school process. She is actually a past tutee of Emma, who prepared her for sitting her 11+ exam. Ellie completed her GCSE’s at Aylesbury High Grammar School for Girls, of which she did very well.
She is now studying for her A Levels at the same school, and is in her first year.
